Gesu' Antonio Baez (ne' Jesus-Anthony Baez) is a humanitarian, social entrepreneur and diplomatic mediator who specialises in diplomacy in international development. He has a special interest in women's rights, foreign policy, the Middle East, and both European and Latin American foreign affairs, particularly with regards to Italy, France, Brazil, and the Dominican Republic.

Born in the Bronx, New York (USA) to an Italian mother and Dominican father, he obtained his triple B.A in International Relations, Italian and French from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida (USA) and his Post-Graduate Diploma in Human Rights Defence from the University of York in York, United Kingdom. Currently, he is pursuing is MSc in International Politics at SOAS University of London.

Baez has years of experience working across Latin America, the Middle East, Africa and Europe, through both business and humanitarian affairs which has allowed him to have spent significant time in a variety of places, from Buenos Aires to Khartoum and both Muscat and Paris.

Currently, he is the Executive Director and Chief Diplomatic Officer for the London-based consultancy firm, Pax Tecum Global Consultancy, which work to serve as the official link between businesses, emerging economies and NGO's with international governments in order to build sustainable partnerships and an ethical future.  He's also an elected member of the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House)

Previously, Baez worked as the the International Development Coordinator for five years at the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG), which is part of the Partnership for Maternal and Newborn Child Health of the World Health Organization. At ISUOG, Baez oversaw all development and humanitarian work for the organisation, which focus on offering ultrasound training in OB/GYN to medical practitioners in countries, such as Haiti, Ghana, Sudan, Oman, Nepal, Rwanda, Egypt and Ethiopia in order to enhance women's health outcomes and reduce high maternal and neonatal rates. Through achieving this, ISUOG partnered with the UN agency UNFPA on these projects and Baez served as liaison on behalf of ISUOG to the WHO-PMNCH, consulting on global strategies for women and children in the post-2015 agenda.

Baez is a Member of Board of Directors at Teach for Italy (part of the Teach for All network) where he is working with his fellow Board members to work with the CEO and develop the strategy needed to ensure quality education in Italy and inspire change in Italian youths. He also serves as a Member of the Board of Advisor to the UN Think Tank, Global Vision Institute.

In July 2014, Baez was named by UN Women's EmpowerWomen.org as one of its Official Champion for Women's Economic Empowerment, working with team of global advocates to help promote the work of the Beijing20 discussions to empower women globally through economic independence. Through his championship, Baez worked with UN Women's EmpowerWomen.org  and a team of his fellow Champion Reps to launch the brand new global campaign - I am (wo)man - of which he served as co-architect and founder. 

While Baez has grown up as a bilingual English and Italian speaker, he is also fluent in French, Spanish, German, and Portuguese. He can also speak conversational Romanian and Arabic.

While passionate in his field, Baez also enjoys photography, capoeira, cooking, and spending his free time traveling extensively to various world regions.
